Task Force Iron Claw IED Hunting in Iraq 20042005 eBook Casey Elliott Ben Paepke Reviews

Army engineer’s account of the early days of searching for IED’s, mostly in Baghdad but also other places. The author ably describes the “hurry up and wait” as well as the intense moments, with sights, sounds, and smells along the way. Enjoyable read!
Mr. Elliott's story about his service as an engineer in Iraq is interesting at best. Just as his experience in Iraq there is a lot of routine and moments of shear terror. There is no doubt by his telling that the equipment he used to locate IEDs was one up from going around and stomping with your feet. One wonders how anyone would do this job with the support and equipment provided. Mr. Elliot has made it known that we can send a man to the moon, but equip someone to safely locate and protect them from IEDs? I have to give Mr. Elliot credit and admiration for his service. Hunting for Easter eggs is one thing. Knowingly hunting for IEDs and explosives, No Thanks.
This book kept my attention to the point I couldn't put it down. I typically don't like to read, but this was awesome. I highly, HIGHLY recommend it! If you like true war stories this is your book. Well done author!
